At least once a week, Dave will hold “office hours” in a different district neighborhood, bringing Town Hall closer to your doorstep. Whether you want to report an unsafe road condition, ask a question about zoning, or suggest a way to increase use of a park, you will be able to talk to Dave and his staff in your neighborhood.
Dave will also advocate for a more user-friendly Town website that makes it easier to find meeting agendas, budgets, and project updates. He will explore an online portal to submit and track concerns you want the town to address.
A more robust website will also make it easier to learn about, and engage with, projects in your neighborhood.
“Small town government is about local issues,” says Dave. “Residents should be able to ask questions or express their concerns in a friendly conversation with their representative.”
Dave wants Town businesses to thrive. He wants to remove barriers and make it easier for current and potential business owners to get information they need from the Town to expand their business or start a new one.
New and expanded businesses mean more local jobs and more tax revenues.
Thriving businesses also mean more vibrant downtowns with more entertainment and ways for you and your family to enjoy your community and to get the services you need nearby.
Dave wants the Town to explore collaborative marketing opportunities and mentorship opportunities for young people with local businesses.
“Our businesses help define the character of our communities, and our downtowns are places where we come together,” says Dave. “When we support them, we are supporting our neighbors and enhancing everyone’s quality of life.”
Dave’s 30 years in law enforcement and his work as a community leader have taught that effective policing requires a partnership between law enforcement and residents. He will facilitate a productive dialogue between police officers and residents and increase ways for you to be more engaged in safety issues affecting their neighborhoods.
Open communication will increase mutual respect, offer a direct path for resolving problems, reduce crime, and improve quality of life.
Dave’s efforts will also help ensure that police officers treat everyone fairly and with respect–and are, in turn, respected for their essential service to the community.
“Beyond just listening, I committed to translating community concerns into concrete actions,” says Dave. “I want residents to see real results from their input.”
